Workers are just finishing up mudding/taping the drywall in our new
home. So far I've done the following:
Structured Wiring: Most rooms have bundles of 4 coax and 2 Cat-5
cables.
Speakers: I've run wire (12/2) to 8 locations in the house, leaving
enough slack for all sixteen wires to congregate in a central "cabinet"
under the stairs in the basement. The structured wiring runs will also
terminate in the same area.
I've purchased and cut holes in the drywall for JVC Soundpoint
speakers, round ceiling type, 5 pairs of 8" and 2 pair of 6", plus a
pair of A/W's for the patio, also JVC.
I don't know what all is available yet but I envision, if possible, a
system which allows multiple inputs and 8 channels of output (over
normal speaker wire), and volume and input control via CAT-5, with mini
controllers in each room. All input devices (CD, AM/FM, etc.) can be
located in the same basement cabinet.
1.) Is this possible?
2.) If #1 is "yes", is this affordable.
3.) What equipment do you recommend, given the expectations of the JVC
Soundpoint series, which I assume is modest?
The only way you can get any action in this group is to make a statement
that poses an opinion that other people in this group can jump on, disagree
with and fly off on wild tangents that have nothing to do with your original
post.
What's wrong with you man?
