Tray settings Word 2010 are set to auto in Office 2003 file

We have had a migration at our office from Server 2003 32-bit / Office 2003 to Server 2008 64-bit / Office 2010.

We had pretty little problems, but some are conistent.
When we open office 2003 files in office 2010 to tray settings are set to auto instead of the tray settings we defined in 2003.
Is this a known office 2010 problem or might this be a 64-bit driver issue instead?

How did you perform the migration? Did you use the Office Configuration Toolkit (OCT)? Do you have group policies available to use?

Hi there - we've run into this problem and we solved it by installing really neat third party software called It allows you to add toolbar buttons to Word and setup each button to print to a specific tray printer combination.

It works really well and is a very inexpensive solution to the problem which saves a lot of time and paper which is wasted by users sending print jobs to the wrong paper trays and printers. Cuts down on a lot of support costs and frustration too.

Hope that helps
