Hiya forum

I have a spare good ol' IDE hard drive from my now defunct desktop and I'd like to connect it externally to my laptop for use as a data backup disk.

NSW used to sell an adapter that allowed you to connect a 2.5" drive to the PCMCIA slot, but does anyone know of a vendor who sells a similar solution for a desktop IDE drive? Or perhaps via USB?

THanks

hey,

Try tigerdirect.com . I had a spare cdrw and wanted to configure it to my laptop, and i found some usb/firewire/pcmica adapter kits there ( well accuall in the magazine). There was a whole bunch, that was 2 years ago, im sure they should have more.
