New Netgear WNDR 3800. No Interent?

Have new WNDR 3800 Netgear router. Set up fine and all computers in the house work great except one Laptop.

It conneects to the router and I can ping the router but i will not connect to internet through the wifi?

When I connect the laptop to the router via the wired connection it is fine?

I Released the IP, Renewed the IP no luck?

Took the Laptop to neighbors and it connects wirelessly with no problems.

It was working fine on the Netgear router I replaced.

I even did a system restore to an earlier time with no luck.

Totally stumped anyone have any ideas?

it seems to me like we need more information about the computer in question. What version of windows is it? Does it have the latest service pack?

It is a Compaq and it is running windows 7 service pack 1

Well I would first type Ipconfig /all in a command prompt window (click start type cmd in the box and then enter)

Look in the resulting info for the wireless connection and copy it down.

Then go connect it to your wired connection and do the same onlt this time look for the info pertaining to the wired connection not the wireless.

Let us know if there are any differences.

PS. you can ping the router? can you ping Google.com
