Hi - Looking for a VU meter like we used to see on cassette recorders
to monitor sound card output. I did Google for it before making my request
here, but none will
work with Windows Media Player. The *one* that does run alongside WMP causes
severe distortion, probably because of conflict with my Creative Extigy
sound card.
(Preferably freeware)
TIA

Don't know about monitoring sound card output, but you can download a
variety of free audio meters (some of which work from a .wav file) but you
may need some S/W to duplicate your audio channel. There is S/W
(TotalRecorder ?, I seem to remember for the Input channel) for this but I
couldn't get it to work - it crashed my machine however I tried it. It
might work for you with a different sound card.
