if any of you havent seen kill bill volume two, or one for that matter you are missing out. i can really understand how a lot of people wouldnt like it but i absolutely loved it. another classic to add to tarantinos resume.

:::::::::::::::SPOILERS:::::::::::::

the demise of bill was perfect, i couldnt have hoped for any better. the five point heart technique, freaking brilliant lol. i half expected him to shoot her on the fifth step. mainly because i was told that the beatrice dies at the end. im happy she didnt. it would have been bad for the little girl. its awsome that she was told about her and was told to expect her for so long, so there was love and familiarity for her when they met. it would have been stupid to expect any sort of happiness for the little girl with her father dead and forced to live with some woman she didnt know. one part i didnt expect was pai mei. OMG this guy is bad ass. if i saw him walking down the street i would run away screaming. punching through that 5 inch block just a finger length away. i really wasnt sure how she was going to get out of that coffin. i knew once she got out of the box they would make it look fairly easy to get out of the dirt. but i thought breaking out of the box was gonna be corny but they did it perfectly! so many more plot developements in the second one too. i thought it was a nice touch to have bills brother lie to him saying he pawned the hanzo sword for 250 bucks, but turn out he really kept it. the movie really had me guessing. over all i would say they both blew me away. i dont really consider them to be separate movies though. things like that, lotr, matrix 2 and 3, you cant look at them as separate movies. they are technicaly one movie after all.

My only complaint is that they didn't make it one movie. I felt like I could have sat through the whole thing during Kill Bill 1.

I'm also a bit confused why they changed the tempo of the film so drastically.

You really think it would have been too long? That movie was awesome and any true tarantino fan would gladly sit through it in one sitting. Have an old school intermission if necessary.

I think Tarantino has gotten to that point where he could do whatever he wants. If Scorcese or Spielberg make a movie people will sit until the end no matter what. Tarantino could have pulled it off with his fan base if he wanted.

This way he made more money though.

When they made Lord of the Rings it was 2 4/5 hour movies I think. They changed it to three towards the end if I remember correctly. There was some overlap of the books so they didn't cut it right at the books.

4 1/2 hours isnt too long for a die hard tarantino fan, but not for joe shmoe that couldnt give a rip who made it, he just wants to see some action. did you see the previews for his next movie coming out with jet li?

Based on What exactly before Kill Bill?

Don't get me wrong this KB was/is great, but he didn't do much after Pulp Fiction and Resevoir Dogs was great but didn't get noticed until after PulpFiction by the majority of the poulation. He was in an industry slump and not the darling he once was anymore. With the Release of KillBill he now has much more cred/power, but he's still nowhere near Lucas, Spielberg, Ccorcese, Coppola, etc. I give him ehis due, but still he doesn't have their pedigree... Yet. And while I was a fan of Resevoir Dogs, which led me to PulpFiction without question, there was From Dusk 'til Dawn whch gave me some enjoyment but didn't impress me, Four Rooms only had Glimmers of Brilliance, and Jackie Brown was mediocre compared to his past films, so even as a 'fan' I wasn't about to give him cart Blanche. Even his acting distractions weren't impressive.
Yeah I saw KillBill on the first day, but only after getting reviews that basically said, it's worth my coin/time.

All that comes down to Tarantino not having that power and that's exactly why it got split. He wanted 1 movie, then the studio said it's too long, cut it, he looked at it and couldn't cut it, then it was suggested that he split it in two instead of losing significant portions. This worked out best for him, and didn't cause him to lose the "I ain't eeing anything over 2 hrs crowd" and the purist crowd who enjoy the whole thing only in two parts. And of course the Studio has two films for just about the price of one. With them on DVD you can do it all in one sitting with only slight gaps (for your multi-disk to change disks), and perhaps in the era of extended length DVD (either BluRay or other formats) you may see it combined back into the original single movie concept. If anyone would do that I'd say it would be Tarantino.

I Really like KillBill, but Iprefered the first installement better. I also gated, and I mean HATED the last scene. It was too corny. It didn't ruin the movie for me, but I just didn't buy Uma's character relaxing that much around bill. Here run in with his brother was definitely STOOPID but believable, whereas, the last segment just didn't sell me, and the Exploding Heart Technique was predictable, but still cool.

All in all a great movie(s). Not in my top 10 of all time, but definitely in the top 50.

BTW That Jet Li film was filmed in 2002 it already showed at the Toronto film Festival over a year ago. It's foreign language, and now it's being re-released with subtitles, it was initially shown as Dubbed (UgGh!).

Next film is called Glorious Bastards or something like that IIRC.

Remember, Four Rooms was only 1/4 directed by Tarintino... I didn't see it yet, but IIRC, it was four different mini movies directed by four people revolving around the same concept in the same hotel with the same characters. Good idea though!

If you already knew that and his part was only slightly good, then more power too you!

Yeah, I knew, but it's simply that even his segment was only mediocre, the others BLEW IMO (wish Jessica Beale did  ), but even his segment was a little over played. Tim Roth was GREAT through most/almost all of the movie, and he really completed that skit, but it just wasn't quite 'there'.

Don't get me wrong, Tarantino is GOOD, but only time will tell if he's GREAT like the others in the list.

Just trying to say, that there wasn't the intertia left over from PulpFiction the way the Wachowski brothers had immediately after the Matrix. Despite their limited successes, they were given carte blanche because they were FRESH of their hit, whereas enough had gone on since Pulp Fiction for Tarantino that he didn't have that power that would have allowed him to release one big long movie, like som of us would've liked. Even the Wachowskis had to pull back from their plan of quick back to back releases, it appears that even their power had limits, and no I don't want to discuss the success/failure of the last two installments.

That's basically all I was saying. While he's good I don't think T had that power at his disposal.

I haven't seen volume 2 yet, so I didn't read what the posts said.

But, about volume 1, I thought it was funny/cool how they made it less gory by making it more gory. What I mean is by Tarantino making it so blood shot out in huge jets when arms/legs/heads were cut off made it comical rather than gory and violent. I need to go see the second one now.
