Hey!
I'm having some problems running older games (from 2002 or older) with
Windows XP Professional. I've got a 2600 MHz processor, 512 RAM, and a 128
Mb NVIDIA GeForce graphics card. The games will suddenly crash to the
desktop without any error message/report of any kind. I've tried using that
program compatibility guide, but it doesn't help (I might be using it
incorrectly).
Can anyone please help me!

"... all the king's horses and all the king's men, couldn't put the old
games together with upgrades again" :) Everytime I upgrade I lose a few more
old favourites too.

Some fail because of incompatibility with the processor, some because of the
graphics card and some because of the OS. What I did to save some of them:

Step 1: I mailed the game producers. Some have created fixes e.g. Lucas Arts
sent me a fix for Starwars Racer. Quite rare though. :(

Step 2: I created a small (10 Gig) partition on my HD and loaded Win98 in
it. Several old games now run again when installed into this partition under
Win 98 e.g. games as old as Motoracer. (Works only if the OS is the problem
of course.)

Step3: Traded the rest in on new games. :)

Good luck. :)
