Windows doesn't start

Hello guys,
yesterday i turned on my PC and black screen appeared saying that windows couldn't find "windows/system" folder. then I installed Windows XP, first it worked fine but today the black screen appeared again saying the same. I have no idea what's wrong with it. can anyone help me?

Sounds like a hard disk problem.
Do you have any bootable CDs/DVDs you use to get the machine running?

I also think its HDD problem. yeas I have one. I'll check it, thanks.

Can you get in on Safe Mode?

Try running a CHKDSK for Hard Drive errors?

CHKDSK runs but console window disappears quickly after third stage(checking security ...) I can't read what's written there.
