Hello, I'm trying to fix my friend's computer. He has a following problem. He suddenly can't connect to internet because of error PPPoE 769. He used cable to connect to the internet and it used to work but it suddenly stopped. Internet on notebook works though, because he also has router connected to modem. So he uses WLAN.

I tried to reinstall his network adapter driver but after the installation, all I get is some deep sleep error problem. He has P5KPL-AM motherboard (Realtek RTL8102EL). Of course I googled what deep sleep is and tried to remove ram sticks for about 30 minutes and unplugged all computer power cables. But deep sleep problem is still present.

It seems like that deep sleep problem deleted network adapter driver or something.
Can I solve this problem any other way?

Excuse me on this one, I don't exactly know what does network card do, but would buying a new network card and plugging it to the motherboard solve this problem? What about those wireless USB cards for PC?

Sorry for my English.
