I recently got an EPoX 8K3A+ mobo and I would like to use the onboard sound. Yes I'm going to eventually upgrade, no I don't want to get a sound card now since I've already spent $400 on new computer stuff in last 3 months.
Originally XP didn't recognize the "Multimedia Audio Controller". I installed stuff from the EPoX CD and the driver problem went away.
But now there's no sound. There's no sound levels on the volume toolbar. I set up the Control Panel\Audio to AC'97 sound all around.
EPoX's site is down right now too so I can't check that
Here's my system:
XP Pro
EPoX 8K3A+
AMD Athlon XP1600+
2 Maxtor 60GB 7200RPM ATA133 Hard Drives on RAID-0
Philips 20x10x40 Burner
Radeon 8500
If anyone can help me out I'd really appreciate it.
Hmm... I've also discovered that there is sound coming out of the PC Speaker... is it possible that the sound is directed at the PC Speaker instead of the "real" speakers? I tried unplugging te PC speaker plug but that didn't do much, besides kill the PC Speaker sound
And I just downloaded the newest Realtek audio drivers and those didn't help.
