Slow remote access

Hello,

I have an Att combination Netgear modem-router that is painfully slow when accessing wi-fi gear remotely. Everything works great on the lan, but often times out on remote access over the internet.

Well remote access depends on a bunch of things, your internet connection, the device you are connecting to, IT'S internet connection, what you are using to connect, the options you have setup for remote access, etc... Have you checked on all of those?

The internet access is DSL (ATT.net) and has been checked by ATT. The device I am accessing is a Networkthermostat wifi that works fine on the lan. It evenually will load, but may take up to 60 seconds or more to load one web page.

If it works fine locally, it's the speed of the connection between the systems. Do a ping test to the device see how it goes. Run it as a constant ping also and see if there are any time outs.
