Hi there,

I have a P900 that when switched on shows the error message 'Insert Correct
Sim'. I have tried SIMs from all of the UK network providers and not one of
them is accepted.

The phone is O2 branded and I use an O2 sim card but for some reason the
phone just wont start up.

I have used the SE online update to update the sofware in the phone but
still no joy.

Anyone have any ideas?

Cheers

Chris

GDFS is probably corrupt. Have a look in the service menu (up * down down *
down * - or it could be up (never can remember on the P8/9)) and have a look
in the locks menu to see if it's four locks closed (the padlocks next to
each lock will be locked or unlocked).

If it is a corrupt GDFS you'll need to get it properly (by someone who knows
what they're doing) reflashed with a virgin GDFS.

Hi,

Thanks for your quick response...

Yup all 4 locks are closed. What does this mean and what could cause this
to happen?

Many thanks for your help with this.

It means that someone has been buggering about with it, either trying to
flash it (incorrectly) or unlock it (again, incorrectly). The phone ideally
needs reflashing using decent equipment with all areas of the flash
including the GDFS being reflashed. Their's no guarantee that will work,
but I suspect that it will sort you out.

The Phone is sim locked, you need to find the original sim it was sold
with, or get O2 to unlock the phone

Nope, that won't help in this case. The phone has been tampered with which
is why it's showing "four locks closed". The easiest way to sort it out is
to reflash the GDFS.
