CD PROB!! HELP

Hi, im having probs with my liteon 12101b. It will read data disks but takes a long time and will not accept blanks, it constantly accesses the disk causing the system to hang. I have a working aspi layer. Tried everything even reformat/install. Tried it on my brothers pc with no probs. Im using xp pro and everything has been ok for 9 mths. My A03 dvd burner is ok. Could it be my power supply only 270 watts?

have you tried unoverclocking your computer?

how do you shoot the devil in the back? what happens if you miss? -verbal

Mmmmm...and check DMA in Device Manager. The 12101B will not backup SafeDisc 2, even with Amplify Weak Sectors (Blindwrite & CloneCD)

The onl;y ASPI layer you really need in XP is the ahead (nero.com) WNASPI32.dll copied into the /system32/ folder. Adaptec's ASPI 4.70 is unstable with many XP systems. 4.57 is the most stable and works with XP, 4.60 will also work but is only 16bit if you want a 32bit system, don't use them.
