Hello-

there was a thread here a few years ago called a 'tale of 3 603s' in
which the QC of MXL was discussed. Does anyone have any updates on
the long term reliability and/or QC of MXL today? I searched the
archives and found nothing...but if there's a thread someone can point
me too...that'd be really helpful as well...thanks for any bones...

Peace,
Mike

I think the overall QC has dropped somewhat since Brent left the company,
but they're still doing better than most of the other Chinese mike importers.

I've got 7 of them, 3 purchased when Harvey first mentioned them, 2 bought
about a year later, and 2 bought in the past 6 months.

To make a long story short, I marked them so I can tell them apart.

I also have 7 of them. They all sound very similar, but now they're matched
into 3 similar pairs and one loner. All 3 pairs sound very similar to each
other.

I bought a pair when Harvey first did his review on MXL Mics and bought
a matched pair last year. Both pairs sound very close to each other
even though they are 2 years or more different age wise. I use them all
the time and still think they are the best bang for the buck around. ;-)
