Make my Linksys router actually "wireless."

Hello. Computer language is a foreign language to me, so I really need the basics. I have a Linksys wireless router that has always had a computer hard-wired to it. We want to avoid having to have a computer hard-wired in order to get internet throughout the house. Can anyone tell me what I need to do to make the router actually wireless?

the router must always be connected to the modem for it to provide internet to the rest of the house. Computers can connect via ethernet cables to the router, or via wifi if your computer has a wifi adapter.
