Advice on SMS Probably

I have a Sony Ericsson K700-i. Intermittently my SMS messages have been
failing, both to be sent and to be received.

Friends have been reporting this over past 3 weeks.

I am on Vodafone network, and they insist that there are no glitches on
their SMS Gateways. But I am not so sure. Anyone else had this problem?

Anyone else think it's local to my phone?

So far, Vodafone have merely advised to disconnect from then reconnect
to network, then reboot the phone.

It works for five minutes or so then the malfunction returns.
Any thoughts?
