I have a Viewsonic A90f+ Monitor. And I was looking at the display sizes.
1280x1024 & 75mhz (currently at)
1360x768 @ 100mhz
1600x900 @ 85mhz
1600x1024 @ 75.2mhz
1600x1200 & 60mhz
All the above refresh rate is from the monitor viewmeter (the monitors infoscreen that shows up on the montior when you select the buttons on the monitor itself)
So my question is how can the refresh rate be so good above 1200x1080?

Viewsonics manual and website only show 1280x1024 and 1600x1200 they left out the display modes in between 1280x1024-1600x1200

Also note on my video card I selected refresh rate of optimal

Refresh rates in this case pertain to vertical refresh, not horizontal.

The refresh rates relate directly to the vertical resolution you're dealing with. 1360x768 will have a higher stable refresh rate over 1280x1024 because the latter has a higher vertical resolution.

Compare the last numbers, notice how close 1280x1024 and 1600x1024 are. They both have a vertical resolution of 1024, and both are at a 75hz (not mhz) refresh rate.

These resolutions are not 4:3 and can show distorted images.

No. The frequncy is the dot frequency and is calculated by X-resolution times Y-resolution times refresh rate. E.g. 1280*1024*60 = 78 MHz (Mega-hertz with a capital 'M')
