I am planning on building a new computer, but first would like to use my NEW CD-RW on the OLD computer (Micron PII400, BX440, Phoenix BIOS #?, WIN98)to backup some files.
Will the OLD computer recognize the CD-RW?
Thanks,
DD

Yup, it should be fine. Make sure you install the recording software.

Just some follow-up...Bought a LiteOn 40x12x48 at NewEgg, (What a GREAT outfit), installed without a hitch, and have burned my first CD. Cool! Thanks for the input.

Good choice - great drive, especially factoring in cost.
