I just bought a TDK VeloCD 40x12x48 internal CD-RW drive (401248). Chose this drive for speed, XP compatability, excellent software package - not to mention the $50 TDK rebate.

The drive lists as optional a 40x or faster CD/DVD-ROM drive that supports DAE for CD to CD copying. I do a lot of CD to CD copying.

And before I start an uproar over pirating just let me say I make ALL my copies for personal use. My car CD player, my wife's car CD player, main stereo system, personal stereos, "walkmen" etc.

I'm not buying a dozen or more off the shelf copies of the same CD's for our myriad sound systems. RIAA members make plenty profits off of 1 CD.

Anywayz - reviews and info on CD/DVD-ROM drives are hard to come by other than mfg's sites. I checked out Samsung (SD 616) but the site lists it as only 16x DVD-ROM max 32x DAE.

I'd really appreciate suggestions on the best 40x DAE CD/DVD-ROM drives from knowledgable folks in the community.

Thanks in advance.
