My system:

MSI K7T Turbo2 mb
AM AthlonXP 1700
WinXP Pro
60gig Maxtor HS
ATI Radeon 8500
512, 256x2mb SDram PC 133

Bascially I have 512mb ram, Programs kept crashing on me in winxp...everything to do with direct3d and opengl basically...I thought it was my vid card...but it turned out to be a stick of ram...once I took out a 256 meg stick, all my problesm went away...so I bought another Kingston 256mb pc133 stick today...and bam!

I get my probs all over again...what gives?

test all your memory with memtest86...might want to do it overnight as it will take a while.

another think you can do while testing is to test a known good stick on all ram slots. its possible that one of the slots is missbehaving.

p.s. for quick testing 1 run through of memtest should be sufficient (around 30mins)

So I fixed my BIG PC problem by pressing the reset button. I'm not a moron am i?
