Just added a new DELL corded optical mouse, 2 button with scroll wheel. At random times, the mouse cursor will leave the field of display or "jump" off the screen--I then have to move the mouse randomly to "hunt" for the cursor which usually re-enters the display from the left or the top. What causes this and how can it be corrected? Thanks.
BTW I use XP Pro.

This used to happen with my wireless optical mouse as well, but stopped for some unknown reason.

Try:
1) Looking in settings for anything that might relate
2) Fresh batteries
3) Latest drivers
4) Contacting DELL (through phone/e-mail/forums)
