Word of mouth told me to look after the Audix 1290 O (Omni) microphone.
I do mostly classical recordings and I'm looking for some candidates for
Decca Tree setup.

I think you'll find it too omni for a decca tree. You might look at some
of the larger Microtech Gefell omnis, some of which are beamy enough to be
useful.

Hi Scott,
sorry for my bad english, but what do you mean with 'beamy'?
Does it mean the directivity at higher frequencies - which is more or
less present with all omnis and was very prominent with the M50's (those
were used in the original Decca setup)?

Right. That directivity is what makes the Decca tree work.
