Is Crucial DDR 2100 CAS 2.5 as good as any?

I plan to (plan is all at the moment) perhaps run a Northwood 400 at 533. So therefore a DDR mobo.

Not planning on spending loads of cash. Certainly can't afford RD stuff.

I'm not sure about that, but if you do go with Crucial, can you get to it through the link on my site?

Thanks,
Bryan

The Crucial PC2100 will run at CL2 perfectly stable. Well it does on my system and just about everyone I know that has these sticks. But if your getting the Intel chip with its higher FSB you may want to get some PC3000 or PC3200 to maximize your system.

Crap, all the good ones are already taken.

uh... since its a P4 system wouldnt you want your DDR to go as fast as it can? (p4's being greedy buggers)

if thats the case i would advise you to get Sambsung PC2700. affordable + highly overclockable and comes in 512mb sticks.

So I fixed my BIG PC problem by pressing the reset button. I'm not a moron am i?

Well...512MB of 2100 is around £100.

256MB of 2700 is about 1.75 times the price of it's 2100 brother.

I've not seen prices for 512MB of 2700 in the U.K. but I'll look around.

Woohoo! More <A HREF="http://www.overclockers.co.uk/acatalog/Online_Catalogue_Memory_8.html" target="_new">here.</A> Now we're getting somewhere.

So which is preffered?

Kingston
Crucial
Corsair
Kingmax
Samsung

kingmax is average.

i personally like corsair... can reach extreeme speeds, with cool black heatspreaders, but at a significant price premium.

at the moment the best regarded is the sambsung PC2700. affordable yet can handle high overclocks and hard memory timings.

crucial and winbond also rate mentions.
