I'm buildin' a dependable, high end workstation. Already purchased Coolermaster Case, Intel D850EVM2 M.B., Pentium P4B 2.4 GHz (533), 512 MB of PC1066 ECC RAMBUS, Adaptec 29160, Plextor UltraPlex UW-SCSI CDROM, etc. >->TRYIN' TO CHOOSE BETWEEN two 15,000 RPM, 36.7 GB Hard Drives ..... the IBM Ultrastar 36Z15 --OR-- FUJITSU MAM3367MP. IBM has smaller 4M buffer, 4.1ms average seek and 42-61 MB/s transfer. Fujitsu has 8M buffer, 3.5ms seek and 68-89 MB/s transfer. Sure, these are just "specs." but there MUST be some performance difference ?? BOTH are super-reliable with 1,200,000 hr. MTBF and both have MR heads, "glass" platters, 5 yr. warranty, etc., and are selling for around $350 !! Just read TOM's review of Fujitsu.... run's cool, quiet and fast !! Had four IBM's before, NEVER any problems..... which one to buy ??????
>>>> PLEASE JUMP IN AND HELP !!!! <<<<< Thanks !! :)
