after purchasing the creative (cambridge) megaworks 510d speaker system, i was dismayed to find that the digital output cable - for connecting my sblive 5.1 sound card output to the controlling subwoofer - is barely 6 feet long! :-(
i would like to place the subwoofer where it's suppposed to go, preferrably in a corner for best sound, or at least against the nearest wall.
right now it's sitting out in the open where anyone - including myself - can easily trip over it or break the cable.
even a call to creative confirmed they don't even supply a longer cord, much less know where i can get one, so for now i'm forced to use the 3 sets of rca-jack stereo output jacks and no digital output.
this cable has been variously described as a "6-channel" mini-jack cable, or a "4-pole" mini-jack cable (with THREE black bands on the connecting pin, as opposed to the normal 2 for stereo).
i've already gone nearly blind in many extensive searches about the net - anybody else run into this problem, know the type of cable to which i'm referring, and know where i can find one longer than 6 feet?
