WiFi adapter for PC gaming?

Last response: in Wireless Networking
Share

Ok, I'm getting a gaming PC and have one BIG problem. My router/modem is at one corner of the house and my computer is supposed to go in the other corner of the house. I am looking to play Battlefield 3, CS:GO, CoD:4, DayZ, and some other online games that require good connection to even do decent. I am going to be downloading different things and uploading videos to YouTube. I need a VERY FAST WiFi adapter that is comparable to wired connection, and remember, my computer will be all the way across the house.

Thanks in advance,
-Brian :)

that is quite a lot of walls.

if you have a N-wireless router, you might be lucky to get a decent signal.

if not you might have to use a Wireless bridge in between your router and the PC

Could you explain a wireless bridge for me please? I looked it up already and I just can't seem to grasp onto it. Do you put it between the wifi router and computer or at the computer?

a repeater bridge will wirelessly connect to the main router and then retransmit the signal to the computer; however, only half the bandwidth will be available.

300Mbs N-wireless will max give you 150Mbs due to the rebroadcasting
