I am trying to connect to a VPN from a Tungsten T3. My configuration
is a cable modem (connected to the Internet), connected to a router.
For this purpose, I then connected a Bluetooth access point to the
router. I've tried both the Belkin F8T030 as well as the Anycom
AP-2002. In both cases, I can get general Internet connectivity on the
Palm just fine, using a web browser.
I then tried using Mergic VPN for the VPN connection. Mergic tells me
that the connection can't be made, due to a "possible firewall or NAT
block." I get this same error with either access point.
I know it must be an issue either on the Palm or the Bluetooth access
point. I can use a wired ethernet connection from a Windows PC
directly to the router, and I can get a VPN connection with no
problems. So it's not the router, or my Internet provider, or the VPN
on the other end.
Has anyone else gotten this sort of combination to work? If not with
this specific combination of hardware and software, then getting any
sort of VPN connection to work from the Palm over Bluetooth using any
kind of access point and any kind of VPN software?

Thank you for your response. I should have mentioned, I did read that
FAQ entry, but unfortunately have been unable to make use of it to
solve the problem. The FAQ entry indicates that the problem is that
either my firewall or my Internet provider are blocking GRE packets.
However, neither appears to be the case. I have a Windows 2000 PC
connected directly to my router/firewall, and it can connect to the
same VPN with no problems.
This leads me to believe that the problem lies in the bluetooth access
point. However, the two access points I have tried have no settings
that I can find that appear to relate to this problem, or to Mergic's
FAQ entry.
Which leads me back to my original question - has *anyone* gotten
something like this to work? If so, did you use a different bluetooth
access point than the two that I have tried? Or if you used one of
those two, what configuration settings did you use to make this work?
