I have a DVR, HTPC, Vonage, and Desktop PC hard wired to the 4 ports of my wrt54G router.

One way I think works is what Cisco calls cascading a router and I found their instructions to do it. But a Cisco router will cost me. Is there another alternative to adding more ports using my WRT54g? The modem does not have any more ports.

Thanks, networking is complicated.

Found this on Amazon

TRENDnet TE100-S5 5-Port Ethernet Switch (5 x 10/100Mbps Auto-MDIX RJ-45 Ports) $14.34

I am guessing I can just contect an out port from the WRT54G to port 1 on the Trednnet and then I can add other wired devices to the Trendnet.

If I am wrong, reply, else have a large day.

The short details.
