omg! i have tried to get Easy Cd 5.0 (Plat) to run on my machine. i get a blue errer page on boot-up after i install it. i have read other posts about nero not working also... if this is true, what is a proven burner program that works on more than just a few pc's?

Did you install DirectCD with it? Follow the installation instructions from the <A HREF="http://www.roxio.com/en/support/roxio_support/ecdc/ecdc_software_updatesv5xp_sel.html" target="_new">Roxio website</A>.

Where have you read about Nero not working? It's working just fine for me, and a myriad of people.

The way I got it to work before I switched to Nero:
First install Easy CD Creator...
Second DO NOT REBOOT but immediately install latest patch,
THEN reboot.

We all learn and the more we learn the more we find we have to learn.

*I hope you understand that. I don't.*

Don't worry...I understood that. If I understand (and I'm gullible), everyone should understand.

Okay, I got easy cd to work by using the online directions...no blue screen on boot up anymore. However, now my cdrom runs continuously, and the program crashes on me during initialization. Also, when I get the opportunity to try to burn a cd, it it says something about a conflict resolution and something about a kernel. Has anyone one else had issues?

Thanks for all of your help so far...

Well, the other thing I would try is to disable the integrated CD writing feature in Windows XP.

Right-click the CDRW drive, and go to Properties. Go to it's Recording tab, and uncheck "Enable CD recording on this drive". This doesn't disable all CD recording, just the feature from XP.

Try this, and get back to us.
