Win 7 won't complete its installation

Hi everyone,

I'm installing windows 7 from a usb hard drive because my laptop doesn't have cd
the usb drive booted and it went good.

after the pc rebooted I don't the get the 'starting windows' screen and instead I get a black screen.

I don't know why ?

Have you set your machine to boot up from the usb drive or does it run from the hard disk?

Yes, be sure to remove the usb drive, before you start windows. You may also have to make sure, in the bios, that you're booting to the correct drive.

I set my machine to boot from my usb hard disk.when it rebooted it showed me this screen

then I rebooted again and I did re-set my machine to boot from the main hard drive but that's when a black screen shows up.

It should be booting from the drive on your pc, not a usb drive.

I set up the booting from main hard drive and reinstall win 7 and it worked.
