GF4 MX420 & Sigma Xcard

I'm working on building a pc for my car, and I have a question. If I were to take a GF4 MX420 and Sigma Xcard, using the S-Video out to an LCD... the S-Video out I should use would be off the Xcard, correct? Will this display everything that would normally appear on the monitor? Or is it set up to only display what it the player tells it to, as in, the player is on the monitor, and the output of the player goes directly to the TV.

Just want to be sure of myself, its been quite a while since I used loopback.
