Hi Everybody :D

I just reinstalled windows and am trying to restore my previous settings. I was wondering how to do that, specifically with the bookmarks ;)

I originally saved my bookmarks with an export, and I have the saved file. But for the life of me, I cannot seem to get my bookmarks back. I have tried all of the options :(

I am using the internet browser, google chrome :hello:

Does anybody know how to do this?

Hello Hawkeye,
Great to hear from you :)

Export bookmarks from Google Chrome:

Click the wrench icon on the browser toolbar.
Select Bookmark manager.
Click the Organize menu in the manager.
Select Export bookmarks.
Choose a location where you want your exported file to be saved, then click Save.
Google Chrome will export your bookmarks as a HTML file.

This is similiar to how I did it. I have 2 saved files. One saved file is a HTML file.
The 2nd file is my first saved file from some time ago. This file is a ".json" file :hello:

Import bookmarks from any browser

Export bookmarks from any browser as a HTML file and save the file to your computer.
Click the wrench icon on the browser toolbar in Google Chrome.
Select Bookmark manager.
Click the Organize menu in the manager.
Select Import bookmarks.
Open your saved HTML file.

In bookmark manager, there is no "organize menu" in my browser
But this is the closest that I could find:

I went to "customize and control google chrome".
"Bookmarks"
"Import bookmarks and settings"

Option: "from internet explorer" or
"google toolbar"

I clicked, "import"

It said, "success"
Then, just when I was giddy with happiness, I figured I check the "bookmark manager" just to see if they were there.

None of my bookmarks were there! The bookmarks file is saved on my hd. I now realized that it had not allowed me to select a file.... :pt1cable:
