Hmm. I'd have to see some pretty good reviews before spending money on
the expansion... oh wait, Doom 3 got 93-94% reviews, which is pretty
much the theoretical maximum anyway. Maybe the expansion will be rated
105%? Maybe we'll see some sportscaster-like effort inflation going on
to promote this new wonder.

I agree with that, but being in the U.S. (and not waiting desperately
for foreign titles like AquaNox III), policies like that don't really
affect me.
I'll not rehash what makes Doom3 great and not, but I'll say this about
the expansion- it better have some real fixes and improvements, like
CoD:UO did. Things like an integrated flashlight, larger arenas,
vehicles, Cooperative play, much larger multiplayer limits. If it
doesn't and just comes with a few new end bosses, there's no reason for
me to buy it, to just slog through more corridors just for the sake of
slogging through more corridors.
