Sound card to tv

Is there a way to connect your sound card to your tv so the sound comes out of the tv speakers. So when i use my tv as my monitor i get sound from my tv instead of my computer speakers. It seems i would need an adapter or cord that has a normal headphone jack on one end and an rca plug on the other.

The adapter has TWO RCA jacks, a left and right. If you have a non-stereo TV, I think you use the left one. It is avalable as either a solid adapter or as a 3 foot cable. The cable is easier to use. Too much cable length will result in an unacceptable loss of sound quality.
