silent power

I'm looking at getting a new "silent" power supply since mine is so loud. Does anyone have any experience with them or know where i can find an article or just information on how much noise they emmit?

I have an Enermax PSU. It is very quiet.

Get an Antec Trupower 380W/430W (these two models are just about the same) or Enermax EG465P-VE(FCA) 431W.

The Antec has a thermal sensor and will increase fan speed, and noise, when the temperatures reach a certain level. It generally stays very quiet, around 1600-1800 RPM. The Enermax has a manual fan speed adjuster, meaning you can get one and turn the cooling down to the bare minimum and it will probably break a little sooner but be cooler. If you desire the lowest noise then get the Enermax and adjust its speed all the way down otherwise I'd vouch for the Antec because it's cheaper and probably works just as well.

I'd recommend an Enermax power supply - they're very reliable and well worth the money.

What is your system rig? Because if it includes a AMD 15xx Mhz or more 512+ MB Ram, a RAID array, GF 3-4/Readon 8500, and a lot case fans, you might wanna consider, that the PSU is powerfulle enough, or else you will experince alot instabillity.

I'd recommend the German Noice Control - they build som very nice PSU, with Papst fans, their are almost silent (15-25 db, depending on model and effekt) but the other brands suggested are also worth buying =)

But - beware of how much your entire system consumes.
