It looks like the only packages to create DVD-A discs are Minnetonka
discWelder and Magix Samplitude v8.

Any others in that price range?

(I would use the software to archive 192kHz and 96kHz recordings.)

Wavelab 6

Why not just save them as WAV or FLAC files to a DVD-R?

When did Wavelab *6* come out? Latest version has it pegged at 5.

Because then you'd need a computer to play them back. And that
computer would also need to have 192kHz playback capability. I have
more friends with DVDAudio players than computers with 192kHz outputs.
I know some home DVD/CD players can play MP3 and WAV but I believe
they can only handle those formats if its on CDR not DVDR.

To be fair, Samplitude version 8 is also vaporware. Its targeted
release is September.

That's true, I just didn't notice any overt announcement on the Steinberg
site, like I did on the Samplitude site for v8.0.
