I've found a couple of threads that discuss the SMS Inbox capacity (or lack
thereof), however the V600 specifications state that the "SMS Capacity" is
"100+".

Has anyone with a v600 managed to store more SMS messages in their inbox
than is the SMS capacity of their SIM ?

I'm curious as to if there is a firmware (or flex ?) build in existence that
changes what appears to be default SMS Inbox behaviour.

Thanks in advance,

Andrew

At present I have 85 messages in my SMS box and 11 emails, though I will be
shortly doing a sync on the PC,

Thanks for the reply -- what version of firmware and flex is on your phone ?

Also, if you take your SIM out and insert in into another phone, how many
messages are in the inbox then ? (I'm trying to figure out if the messages
are really stored in the phone memory, or if you have a high capacity SIM !)

I don't know and won't look.

The messages are stored on the phone.

There are other factors like pictures and email that will have an effect on
how many messages are stored as the applications share the same memory
space.
Sometime though, the handset locks up from sending or reading text
messgages.

Ah... Good. Thanks so much for that.

What makes you so sure that the messages are being stored on the phone ?
How much space in the available memory is being used by SMS do you think ?

My previous handset stored 25 text messages on the handset, if I put the sim
in another handset the msgs were not carried across unless i saved them ,I
know my sim card holds 10 messages.
So there was no need to try and as mentioned I transfer my messages to the
pc or Palm.

IIRC it is 5m it is in the spec somewhere.

I'd be very interested to know this too. Currently my inbox is full up at 17
messages, with no way of changing the location of storing them to the phone
instead of sim :(
How easy is it to flex a phone, and where could I get the files needed..
