V600 bluetooth problems

I have a Motorola V600 and was able to bond the bluetooth earpeice with it
fine.
Then I bought a bluetooth card for my laptop and now nothing works.
When I send a request from the phone to locate the earpeice I can use it
fine, but when I just open the earpeice the phone flashes for a few seconds
then the conection breaks.
Also it seems very slow when windows explorer is trying to search the public
folder.
Any help would be greatly appreaciated.
