Help with webcam issue?

Hello,
I cant get my webcam to open it shows up in my hardware and on my computer drive but wont open to take pictures or anything. I know i have one and ive used it on other things. But i cant seem to find it and actually open it on my laptop. I have windows 7 what do i need to do?

try rolling back the driver in device manager (doubleclick the device)
