I've only got as far as the Regulator level, so no spoilers please!

During that level, and possibly the one before, I noticed that when I
picked up armour I was only getting a tiny increase on the status bar,
say 5%. Previously I'm sure it's completely refreshed the bar.
Occasionally there's an armour power-up that does give a 100%.

Is this normal, or is there something wrong? I'm using build 1337,
patch 1.3.

armour dropped by ppl you kill only has a small value when you pick it up
compared to the stuff left at ammo dumps.

Most likely, that's armour dropped by enemy soldiers. Used armor usually
provides 5-10 points, and is nothing to be exited about. The same applies
to some medikits dropped by soldiers - they don't always heal 100 points.

At worst, it could be a bugfix from 1.0 where used armor gives too much
protection, but I strongly doubt that.

It's not a bug. If you shoot a guy wearing armor, his armor degrades.
When you pick it up, it will give you a partial increase to your armor
stat because you just shot it all up.

If you pick up armor just sitting around in some depot, it's
considered "new" and your armor-bar goes up to 100%.

I seem to remember (but am not absolutely sure) that if you kill a guy
wearing armor with a single head-shot, then the armor he drops is also
100%. So shoot carefully.

Ah... very clever. A nice touch. I'll try to get more head shots in.
Thanks all.

I dont think I ever got 100% armor off of any dead mercs, but if you do head
shots, the armor you then pick up is definitely better than if the armor is
all shot up (I remember getting like around 50% armor off of head shot mercs
and 10-20% armor if it's shot up).
