Dual Boot Of XP 32bit and 7 64bit

i have intel core 2 quad 2.33ghz processor and 4gb ram with 512nvidia vga. now i am using windows xp 32bit only and i need to know if i install windows 7 64bit os into another partition it will lead to a dual boot. is this will slow or crash down my pc or decrease the performance and make it not responding?

Your system configuration seems good and should to fine with dual boot as you mentioned without any difficulties!

have this guide as reference, Windows 7 & Vista have similar installation procedures!

I have almost the same setup, 500 gig WD HD, split in half, X/P Home 32 bit and Win 7 64 bit. No problems what so ever. I also have Vista Ulta 64 bit on a second HD WD 250 gig.
The only draw back is X/P Home 32 only reconizes 3gigs of memory.
