I am going to buy a 24x/10x/40x CD-RW. I am in trouble to choose between Liteon and Asus. I have personal good experience with Asus CD-RWs. And Liteon is slightly cheaper in my market. I also know they are good. I am not thinking to buy from another third brand.

What choice will be wiser? To stick with Asus or having new experience with Liteon?

Hi,

I have the precise burner (LiteOn) you describe, and it rox! I'v burned about 500 discs since newyear, when it replaced my old sony dubbel speed burner. I can only recommend it 100%, some friends of mine have the 32x version, this is just as good & stabel - only faster.

Real men don't do backup...

In the CDRW market, I'd recommend three brands: Plextor (often overrated), Yamaha, and Lite-On. In your case, I'd recommend a Lite-On.

I sell the Lite On's and they are a great writer and a great price. I've never had a custonmer return one saying it's faulty and I only hear good things about them. We stock the 32x one and also the 40x and the 48x now.

Go with the Lite-On

Just one thing though. Our Lite On writers don't come with IDE cables so make sure you get one or have one to use.
