Can anyone tell me what the purpose of the website entitled "Twonky.com" is for?

I'm confused about what precisely this website does.

Windows Media Player can function as a media server, but it's not a full-featured service by any means. I do think it’s DLNA compliant though. It’s usually disabled by default.
