Nero doesnt like my CDRs. help

Just bought a new drive, Verbatim (Liteon) with Nero included. Loaded Nero but it will not "acknowledge" my CDRs as "empty medium".

A message pops up and and says "Medium is not empty, Please insert a empty medium" Well I've go through 5-6 different CDRs from the same batch (PNY Technologies) Am i missing something here or is Nero really that picky?

This very dissappointing because my HP Writer w/ Easy CD Creator never had problems with these CDs. I really thought I was upgrading my burner/software but so far I've had nothing but headaches. I cant even get a simple CD copied.

Is this issue a Nero problem or a firmware issue. I'm a newbie so I am in need of help please

Two things here.

1) You mention Nero being included with your cd-writer - is this the version you're using right now? If so, it may well be worth your while going to http://www.ahead.de/ and downloading the latest version.

2) You never mentioned what model your cd-writer is. Could you give us this information? It might be worth paying a visit at http://www.liteonit.com.tw/english-load-firmware.htm - don't forget to read the "How to upgrade firmware" bit.
