I did a google and there's not a lot of info on this mic. Anyone out
there have this mic or tried it out? It's only 300 bucks and I was
thinking of picking up a couple just to have in the locker. Any info
appreciated. TIA.

Hoo boy. Well, let me start by saying it's cool that you decided to check out
this board. But really, this is a board for professionals, not the naive and
ignorant beginner. Your question leads me to believe that you are from the
latter group. I'm not saying you can't check out this board from time to time.
But hey.. maybe you want to just lurk and not post. Not for a couple of years,
anyway. I'm not trying to be rude, but most of the "regs" around here, myself
included, just laugh at people like you. So instead of making somewhat silly
inquiries, maybe you should just learn a few things first. But again, you're
welcome to check out the board in a few more years. Thanks! And happy learning!

Regs like yourself? What other name do you post under?

You're really being rude, dude. Back off. We're happy to help
beginners here. If you don't have time for it, go back to your studio
and leave the dirty work for us old retired farts who've been around
for a while.

Oh, and this is not a "board." It's a Usenet newsgroup.

That said, I had one of the Solaris microphones on the bench, and you can
expect a review in Recording fairly soon.

I reviewed the Luna in the Dec 2003 issue of Recording, and the Solaris is
more or less the same but with a figure-8 pattern.

Isn't it a transducer that you use on dead people?

I thought it had something to do with Fleetwood Mac.
