I bought the MN-700 wireless router. I got the wireless
to connection to work on my laptop with a integrated
wireless g card. But on my other laptop with a wireless
adapter b card it doesnt work. The network shows up but
will not connect. I have my wireless set to accept
both. It is an Orinico Gold 802.11b card. Oh also I
reset the base station and turned off all firewalls. Any
hints or suggestion would be nice.

Thanks

Go into Command Prompt (on XP, not just Start/Run) and at the prompt type in
"ipconfig" without the quotes. See if it is returning a proper IP address
for your non-cooperative laptop. If it shows a 169.x.x.x address, you're
not part of the LAN sequence. Try doing "ipconfig /release" followed by
"ipconfig /renew" (without quotes) to see if it'll pick up the DHCP address
feed from the MN-700.

Follow the steps suggested by Chris.

Are you using WEP? If you are using WEP try disabling it.
I have an Orinoco Silver 802.11b card that won't connect
when 128 bt WEP is enabled. I had to use 64bit WEP. I have
also a usb wireless adapter by smc which works fine with
128bit WEP. My router is mn-500 and this particular
problem seems to be with the Orinoco card itself.
