Is the file location/structure same in Win 7 and Win 8?

For win 8, is the basic file locations still the same in win 7? e.g. My Documents folder, Program Files (x86) folder

I do not want to use the metro thing. On the normal win 8, are there any new items/files added, or items that used to be in win 7 removed?

Windows 8 has no traditional start menu, and has some thing where you mouse over certain corners of the screen it pops up menus which I personally found annoying, as did punkbuster cause it would kick me from certain games until I disabled that with a piece of third party software. In the end I reinstalled windows 7. But yes, other than the lack of the traditional means of getting to settings and programs, the base file structure is the same.
