The best os for gaming

Hello, i've been playing games for a long time in windows xp and i've never faced any problems before. But after i installed windows 7 it seems to be lagging performance. Mainly i installed 7 because of playing BF3 and that requires DX11 and we all know xp doesnt support more than 9.0c.

The question is, does windows 7 dab down my pc's performance?

I'm going to guess since it's XP, it's a least 5 years old. Time for a hardware upgrade!

Win7 does more harm than good if you don't have 8GB of RAM and at the very least dx10 GPU.

Win7 runs fine on 2gb of ram. It's less of a hog than Vista. More ram is always better, tho. 8gb is overkill just for an OS, no matter how bloated Redmond makes it.

I haven't noticed any performance issues since switching over from XP. In fact, things seems a bit snappier.
