Hello,

I have a DFI AM33-EL Socket A motherboard with an AMD Thunderbird 1.2Ghz/266 Socket CPU. I have a single 256MB PC133 SDRAM chip. When I cold boot my system, the memory test and BIOS recognize the full 256MB. If I warm boot or enter BIOS and then exit, the system only recognizes 128MB, even though it's a single chip. Seems odd to me. Any thoughts?

Thank you!

YEAH, perhaps the problem is overheating.
BTW, what's your CPU's temp?
Could you measure the temp of RAM modules, chipset and video card? With the exception of the last, all of the previous ones might cause the problem. Most probably, the RAM overheating.
