Configuring address taskbar

Hello,
how to turn the address taskbar into a search engine text bar? Basically, we want to enable the user to type in keywords and have that passed to a search engine that will show the results in the browsers.

upgrade to IE9, or newer versions of chrome (and possibly others). its a standard feature, type random words, it either figures out the address if you've been there, or pops the search window results.

Yes, ie9 or you can install google toolbar, yahoo toolbar, bing toolbar, etc..
